About The Position

Under general supervision, the HVAC Mechanic installs, maintains, monitors, troubleshoots, and repairs heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and related systems. The position uses an energy management system to monitor and adjust equipment, and may program, troubleshoot, and calibrate electronic controls. Work includes commercial DX and hydronic systems, equipment protection devices, ductwork, compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, humidifiers, piping, and electrical components. The mechanic performs preventive maintenance, inspects systems, investigates mechanical and electrical issues, and may service air conditioners ranging from 15 to 20 tons of cooling capacity. The role also involves tracking and delivering parts, estimating time and materials, managing resources, and helping monitor and instruct journeyman or newer HVAC mechanics. Frequent travel between facilities is required. Work takes place at customer locations, including offices, shops, warehouses, outdoor areas, crawl spaces, and rooftops. The role may involve exposure to hazardous or toxic substances, electrical shock, equipment noise, and varying weather conditions.
