HVAC Mechanic II
About The Position
The fundamental reason that this position exists is to provide skilled mechanical work in installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems in the City of Montgomery facilities. Employees in this class are responsible for laying out work details, assigning duties, and inspecting the work of the HVAC Mechanic Is. In addition to supervising, the incumbent performs mechanical tasks. Assignments are made by written or oral instructions. Daily supervision is received from the Mechanical Trades Supervisor. On large projects, supervision may be received on the job site by an HVAC Mechanic III.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Four (4) years of experience in installing, maintaining and repairing HVAC systems.
- Possession of an EPA 608 Type I and II certification.
- Valid Alabama driver's license.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to be on call 24 hours as needed.
- Provide documentation of identity and employment eligibility to comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Pass a background check.
