POSITION SUMMARY: The HVAC Mechanic I performs routine maintenance, diagnostics, and basic repairs on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This position assists with system installations, supports Building Automation System (BAS) monitoring and data updates, and contributes to the maintenance of life safety and medical gas–related infrastructure. The HVAC Mechanic I works under general guidance while developing technical skills and knowledge necessary for progression to higher-level responsibilities. 2nd Shift: Tuesday-Saturday; 3:00pm-11:30pm

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 years of experience in HVAC service, mechanical trades, building maintenance, or related technical work.
  • Licensure/Certification: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Type I Certification must be obtain within 6 months of date of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Basic understanding of refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Prior experience with air handling equipment, thermostats, or BAS environments.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an HVAC training program from a trade school, community college, or accredited technical program.
  • Licensure/Certification: EPA Type 1 or EPA Universal
