This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all makes of generators. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, adjusting, and modifying all components of the generator, engine, and switchgear. The HVAC Mechanic I will repair, service, and maintain all makes and models of standby generators, conduct start-ups, preventative maintenance, service, and load bank tests. Additionally, the role includes maintaining and repairing automatic transfer switches and working on a variety of commercial/industrial customer sites. Troubleshooting generator components such as alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, shutdown switches, and battery systems is a key responsibility. The position also involves working on common standby generator brands like Cummins, Kohler, Generac, and Briggs and Stratton, performing administrative duties related to the role (meeting TJC requirements), and meeting certification requirements. A positive interface with service writers, foremen, the parts department, and customers is expected. A valid driver's license is required, and willingness to work alternate shifts as required to support the mission is necessary.
