About The Position

RVA Property Managers, the maintenance services division of Doswell Operating Group, is a leader in commercial services, offering solutions like parking lot lighting, demising walls, general maintenance, refrigeration, electrical work, and building repairs. They serve clients ranging from convenience stores to office spaces. They are seeking a skilled and dependable Plumbing Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on facilities, while also supporting the broader maintenance department. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and capable of identifying potential plumbing issues proactively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong plumbing maintenance background required.
  • Ability to work safely at heights, including operating and working from a bucket truck.
  • General maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of painting, drywall repair, plumbing, and facility upkeep.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Able and willing to be trained on the proper and safe operation of equipment as needed (e.g., Boom Lift).
  • Fluent English-speaking and writing skills are required.
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
  • Must have positive points on state driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
  • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights for extended periods when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and equipment.
  • Inspect piping, fixtures, valves, drains, pumps, water heaters, and related components.
  • Conduct repairs and equipment replacements as needed.
  • Test systems for proper operation and identify leaks, corrosion, blockages, or worn components.
  • Follow company safety procedures.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and assigned service vehicle.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
