About The Position

The HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for the ongoing performance, efficiency, and reliability of residential heating and cooling systems. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, system performance optimization, and early issue detection to ensure systems operate as designed and customers experience consistent comfort. Technicians will perform scheduled maintenance visits, complete system inspections, identify potential issues, and educate homeowners on system condition and improvement opportunities. This role plays a critical part in creating long-term customer relationships and generating future service and replacement opportunities.

Requirements

  • 1+ years’ experience in the HVAC trade
  • Must be EPA Certified, Type II or Universal
  • Self-starter, reliable, flexibility with hours
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must pass random drug testing
  • Understanding of the current regulations within the field
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Demonstrable basic knowledge and skills for HVAC maintenance and repair of systems and equipment
  • High school diploma/GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Serving the clients by expertly servicing customers’ entire needs
  • Wear floor savers while in the client’s home and maintain a neat work area when performing a repair or scheduled service
  • Always explain to the client what service you are performing. Explain and show the client how the company provides superior service
  • Perform full system maintenances and tune-ups, evaluating operation, airflow, efficiency, and overall system health
  • Identify signs of wear, inefficiency, or potential failure before breakdown occurs.
  • Inspect and test components of systems to ensure they are operable and safe
  • Educate customers on system operation, filter changes, and maintenance best practices.
  • Promote and explain maintenance memberships (Comfort Club) to support long-term system care
  • Keep service vehicle clean, organized and fully stocked
  • Re-check all repairs and installations after you’ve repaired or replaced them, before leaving the client’s home to ensure everything is working properly and the client knows how to operate the system properly
  • Properly use the Pricing Guide.

  • Maintain a clean, organized job site
  • Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving.
