About The Position

Hammond Services is a growing, family-owned and operated business serving the South Metro Atlanta area since 1979. We are a well-established and respected Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electrical company seeking qualified HVAC Maintenance Technicians to join our team. This is an entry-level position focused on basic HVAC maintenance and tune-ups, with opportunities for advancement into a service technician role as skills and knowledge are gained. The ideal candidate will have completed HVAC training, possess previous HVAC field experience, or have strong technical and mechanical abilities. The position requires travel to our Griffin office for on-the-job training, which may last up to 6 weeks.

Requirements

Completion of HVAC training and/or experience, strongly preferred.
Obtain the appropriate certifications (EPA Type I, II, III or Universal).
Have a valid driver’s license and meet auto insurance requirements (minimum age to drive 22 years old).
Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
Effectively manage call volume and day-to-day tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site preventative maintenance and routine repair on residential and/or light commercial HVAC units.
Use experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements.
Advise manager of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be taken.
Work in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times.
Use software to report work completed and collect customer payments (COD).
