About The Position

C. Woods Company, now Ace Hardware Home Services, is seeking an experienced HVAC Lead Installer. This role involves assembling and installing heating and air-conditioning units, designing and installing HVAC equipment, ductwork, and piping. The position requires maintaining accurate logs, ensuring customer satisfaction, and completing special projects. Requirements

• At least 2 years of residential HVAC installation experience
• EPA Certified required.
• A valid drivers license with at least 3 years of US driving experience is required for this role.
• Registered with TDLR is a plus but not required.
• Be able to remove and install all types of HVAC equipment (gas split systems, heat pumps, package units, mini splits to name a few).
• Must have experience with installing low voltage controls including those used on communicating equipment.
• Be able to overcome installation obstacles in order to get the job done correctly.
• Have knowledge mechanical code and ensure all jobs pass city inspection.
• You have to be able to work in hot attics for extended periods and in some tight and uncomfortable spaces.
• Must have on hand tools
• Physically able to work on HVAC units - Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders.
• Ability to work outside; exposed to heat and cold.
• Ability to hear and speak to exchange information.
• This position requires driving a company vehicle and meeting company motor vehicle and insurance eligibility requirements. You must have a valid U.S. driver’s license for at least three (3) continuous years immediately preceding today’s date.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install heating and air-conditioning units.
• Design and install HVAC equipment, ductwork, and piping.
• Maintain accurate logs of all work performed.
• Ensure our reputation for superior service is maintained during all interactions with customers.
• Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned / required.
• Be a good teacher to help apprentice grow in the company.
• Have good time management and project planning to reduce time on jobs and trips to supply house.
• Be well organized with tools and materials to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
