About The Position

This position provides repair, maintenance, and service of Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems according to building codes and standards. The role involves conducting routine inspections, maintaining inventory through planning and purchasing, and responding to work requests in a timely manner within a Total Maintenance System (TMS). A key responsibility is supervising inmate workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility. The position may require responding to emergency callbacks for service on a rotating basis and assisting in other areas of the Building and Grounds department, including preventative maintenance, construction projects, equipment repair, electrical, welding, carpentry, electronics, or outside maintenance.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of the installation, repair, and maintenance practices for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and supplies related to the trade.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise the work of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep narrative and statistical records relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in web-based HVAC control systems.
  • Knowledge in mini-split system, split systems, and package units.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs and Gmail or preventative maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge in multiple trades experience.
