About The Position

Southern Home Services is seeking an HVAC Install Helper for Blazers Heating and Air, a Southern Home Services company. The role assists the HVAC Lead Install Technician with installing, upgrading, and replacing HVAC systems in residential properties. The helper supports high-quality installations, protects customers’ homes, and provides professional customer service. Work includes scheduled appointments and on-call hours, and may take place in tight spaces and in indoor or outdoor settings with extreme temperatures and adverse weather. This is a non-exempt position.

Valid driver’s license and at least three years of driving experience.
Basic ability to use a PC and MS Office Suite, phones, and tablets, and to access and manage email.

Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to climb ladders, access attics, navigate tight spaces and crawlspaces, drive, push, carry, pull, use hand tools, and perform fine detail work.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, and regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including attics and crawlspaces, with regular exposure to extreme heat or cold and adverse weather such as wind, rain, ice, or snow.

Nice To Haves

EPA Certification is desired; the company will help employees obtain it if they do not already have it.

Responsibilities

Assist with installation of HVAC systems and equipment in accordance with service standards and customer specifications.
Check installation work thoroughly to prevent unnecessary callbacks and ensure optimal performance.
Follow appliance standards and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Keep tools, parts, and the vehicle clean and organized.
Protect customers’ property with floor savers and drop cloths, and keep the work area neat.
Meet scheduled appointments and on-call hours and complete jobs in a timely manner.
Work in tight spaces, including attics and crawlspaces, and in varied weather conditions.
Perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Work safely on scaffolds and ladders at various heights.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Deliver professional, high-quality customer service.
