About The Position

The HVAC Foreman is responsible for leading and coordinating HVAC mechanics in the preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of campus HVAC systems. This position provides first-line supervision, assigns and monitors work, ensures completion of PM and repair work orders, and supports operational continuity across academic, research, residential, and administrative facilities. The HVAC Foreman serves as a technical resource, ensures safety and regulatory compliance, and assists with scheduling, materials procurement, and workforce coordination. This position is governed by state and federal laws and University of Arkansas policies and procedures. After-hours, emergency call-in, and work during inclement weather are required. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to maintain collegial and professional working relationships.

Requirements

  • Masters HVAC Journeyman License in accordance with ACA 17-33-301
  • At least 10 years of experience in HVAC or a closely related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years in a leadership or lead technician capacity
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, components, preventive maintenance practices, and repair methods
  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards, codes, and regulations related to HVAC work
  • Knowledge of supervisory and workforce management principles
  • Skill in the use, care, and troubleshooting of HVAC tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, and work drawings
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate HVAC maintenance and repair activities
  • Ability to supervise and motivate skilled trades employees
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and computerized work order systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

  • At least 10 years of HVAC experience in a commercial, institutional, or industrial setting
  • At least two years of supervisory experience
  • Completion of required education or training and appropriate HVAC licensure or certification in accordance with ACA 17-33-301
  • Experience supporting HVAC operations in a large campus, healthcare, or research environment
