About The Position

As an HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for complex commercial HVAC systems by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. The candidate will be part of a team that works to help each other out where needed, even if it seems to be outside of their typical job — general maintenance tasks will be asked of everyone. This is a manufacturing facility that manufactures turbine blades, and safety is paramount.

Requirements

Heavy understanding of HVAC
General maintenance skills, including light plumbing and light electrical
Troubleshooting skills

Phone app management skills
Basic computer skills
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset
Sophisticated math skills; ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations
Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions
High school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required; trade school preferred
In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered
EPA Universal License required
Driver's License required
5–7 years of job-related experience in commercial/industrial HVAC, including air handling units and boilers
Must meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs
Ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
Rotating on-call schedule with after-hours on-site response requirements

Responsibilities

Assign tasks to team members; ensure all duties are done in a timely manner.
Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values; work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
Work within broad guidelines and policies.
Explain difficult or sensitive information.
Perform preventative maintenance work on air handling units, boilers, and humidification systems.
Perform general maintenance as needed and reactive work as needed.
