About The Position

The HVAC Building Tech I is responsible for operating, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial HVAC equipment at Baylor University. The technician responds to facility service work orders, performs planned maintenance, supports large projects, and collaborates with other technicians and trades to maintain and repair mechanical systems. The role requires accurate documentation, safe work practices, and care of tools and work areas.

This is a full-time third-shift position with a Wednesday–Saturday schedule from 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM, working four days and taking three days off. Forty hours are guaranteed.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of HVAC service and maintenance experience.
• EPA Universal license required.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.

Responsibilities

• Service, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial HVAC equipment.
• Coordinate work processes on large projects.
• Use equipment to troubleshoot and perform planned maintenance as indicated in service agreements.
• Respond to facility service work orders from building occupants.
• Collaborate with fellow technicians to maintain and repair mechanical systems.
• Interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to support accurate troubleshooting and repairs.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time, take equipment readings, and enter them in the appropriate logs.
• Use standard-issue tools and equipment, and keep tools and work areas clean and orderly.
• Comply with company safety policies and use required personal protective equipment.
• Work toward and complete facility team-based goals.
• Assist other trades when required.
