About The Position

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all mechanical systems and equipment. This includes but is not limited to: chillers, cooling towers, fans, pumps, heat exchangers, ancillary support equipment, water treatment, controls and BMS/EMS. Perform maintenance and repairs to all mechanical equipment and systems. Conduct building tours, maintain equipment loss, and report deficiencies for corrective action. Respond to all HVAC trouble calls and troubleshoot the systems to meet the operational and comfort needs of the building(s) occupants, where applicable. Be proficient in the functionality of the BMS/EMS and understand the sequences required for proper building, equipment and system operations. Work with engineers, contractors and consultants in evaluating the proper operation of the building systems. Troubleshoot HVAC equipment and controls to determine problems and perform necessary repairs. Maintain HVAC equipment on an ongoing basis as part of the facilities preventive maintenance program. Perform other related duties as assigned, assisting other tradesmen, and emergency repairs. Adhere to established HVAC work order preventive maintenance schedule. Completes work in accordance with C&W Services Business Systems Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions. Create and maintain all operational SOPs for site specific equipment and systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two to five years in a commercial building with field experience in performing preventive maintenance.
  • Must be licensed in EPA Universal and Freon reclaim and OSHA certification.
  • Education or training in HVAC, and controls.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and components.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative when necessary as well as capable of working as a member of a team and in conjunction with other trades.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and have excellent customer service skills.
  • Prior history with preventive maintenance and ability to operate a variety of tools and mechanical systems.
