We are seeking a Senior HVAC and Building Services Engineer to join our team in Exton, PA. Our office in Exton, PA is responsible for managing design projects including mechanical, electrical, plumbing/fire protection, and process disciplines within biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical and high-tech industrial facilities. We are a team of multi-discipline engineers and designers who work together in collaboration on new projects and upgrades to existing facilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Ten years’ experience as an HVAC Engineer working on pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, and/or highly technical industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of Codes, Standards and industry norms.
  • Computer skills required: Carrier HAP or Trane Trace, Excel, Word.
  • Located within an hour commute of Exton, PA office.

Nice To Haves

  • LEED documentation (a plus).
  • Plumbing System design (A Plus).
  • Fire Protection System design (A Plus).
  • Computer skills a plus: AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Navisworks.

Responsibilities

  • Delegate and direct work to Junior Engineers, Designers, CAD Technicians and interns.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Participate in owner meetings for project kick-off and review presentations and lead discipline related discussions.
  • Conduct field surveys of existing conditions and on-site construction progress punch list reviews.
  • Work independently solving complex problems.
  • Responsible for the compilation of data and the preparation of reports.
  • Coordinates operation within project team to ensure schedule is met, workforce needs are tracked and conveyed, and consistency with policies and procedures is upheld.
  • Prepare concept study presentations and written basis of design documents.
  • HVAC system design including: Building heating and cooling loads.
  • HVAC system design including: Airflow diagrams.
  • HVAC system design including: Room-to-room pressurization plans.
  • HVAC system design including: Hydronic flow diagrams and riser diagrams.
  • HVAC system design including: Static pressure and pump head calculations.
  • HVAC system design including: Chillers, boilers, heat exchangers and associated central plant equipment selections.
  • HVAC system design including: Air handlers, exhaust fans, air valves and diffusers selections.
  • HVAC system design including: Specifications, sequence of operation, and controls points lists.
  • Shop drawing reviews and requests for information responses.
  • Complete Quality Management Training and comply with the program upholding a commitment to a culture of quality in all aspects of work.
