About The Position

This position with APD will serve staff and management across the Agency. Your work will impact the workplace culture, our community, and the population we serve as we continuously strive to achieve the Agency’s mission. APD’s DDDP Overview: DDDP is a forensic facility working with individuals with disabilities in a secure setting. These individuals have been adjudicated by the courts as incompetent to proceed to trial and have significant behavioral and psychiatric issues. DDDP provides rehabilitative, vocational, and daily living skills training to the individuals served, which allows for a smooth transition back into a non-secure residential or community setting.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Four (4) or more years of professional experience in healthcare administration, behavioral science, criminal justice with duties related to managing operations.
  • OR A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Human Services, Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a closely related field may substitute for years of experience.
  • Certification in the Agency’s Crisis Prevention and Intervention Program.
  • A pre-employment and annual TB screening.
  • Annual CPR Certification.
  • Knowledge of residential operations and safety practices
  • Knowledge of Writing/Reading Comprehension – Understanding written sentences to communicate effectively with others in writing
  • Skill in Identification of Key Causes – Identify things that must be changed to achieve a goal
  • Skill in Communication – Listening to others, Providing information to supervisors, fellow workers, subordinates and leadership
  • Skill in Information Gathering – Knowing how to find and identify essential information
  • Skill in Documentation/Monitoring – Obtaining, entering and storing information for monitoring and reviewing data to identify problems and implement actions
  • Ability to Make Decision/Solve Problems - Combining, evaluating, and reasoning with information and data to make decisions and solve problems. These processes involve making decisions about the relative importance of information and choosing the best solution.
  • Proving excellent customer service to include compassion for vulnerable and developmentally disabled individuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership experience in a forensic or residential treatment facility.
  • Experience specific to managing schedules, leave, and attendance monitoring, or employee relations corrective actions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Advanced training may be required.
