About The Position

The Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) is a social and human services agency whose mission is to successfully partner with families, caregivers, and the community to strengthen families, ensure safety, and achieve permanency for all Arizona’s children through prevention, services, and support. The Health Families Arizona (HFAz) Statewide Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the administration and implementation of the HFAz prevention program. This role includes conducting statewide site visits, evaluating program effectiveness, and providing actionable feedback to staff at all levels to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of child development, family risk factors, family-centered practice, child abuse prevention programs, and home visiting services.
  • Knowledge of protective factors and community resources.
  • Knowledge of Federal, state and local programs and resources regarding the Healthy Families Program.
  • Knowledge of The Healthy Families Program model.
  • Knowledge of terminology of Arizona's child welfare system processes, including family-centered practice.
  • Knowledge of contract practices and procedures.
  • Skills in project management (e.g. planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising projects of varying size and magnitude).
  • Skills in facilitating meetings, problem solving, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Skills in statistical and programmatic data analysis.
  • Skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to respond to multiple demands.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative professional relationships.
  • Ability to travel frequently including overnight stays (sometimes weekly).
  • Ability to lead statewide provider meetings, complete public presentations for various audiences including agency staff, community partners, and advisory board.
  • Ability to assist in monitoring program budget.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate projects both in groups and independently.
  • Ability to track program performance measures required by both state and national standards.
  • Ability to identify problems and develop resolutions in both routine and emergency situations.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work under general supervision.
  • Ability to analyze program data, complete program reports, monitor online database system.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to Departmental policies and procedures.
  • Must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license.
  • Must complete all required driver training and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks.
  • Must maintain acceptable driving records.
  • Must maintain the statutorily required liability insurance.
  • Must maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration.
  • Ability to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
  • Must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Responsibilities

  • Complete frequent 2-3 days quality assurance visits throughout the state.
  • Monitor the program to ensure model fidelity and compliance with accreditation standards. This includes providing frequent technical assistance and quality assurance.
  • Research, analyze, write and update, programmatic reports. Coordinate with work groups, community groups and others designated for the purpose of practice improvement. Facilitate and participate in program related meetings with providers and internal/external stakeholders. This includes creating presentations and public speaking.
  • Assist with the development and writing of program policy/procedure and revisions/updates as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
