About The Position

The City and County of Denver is seeking a highly skilled and qualified candidate to serve in the role of Human Services Operations Manager in the Family and Adult Assistance Division (FAAD). This role is responsible for overseeing eligibility teams focused on ensuring accurate and timely processing of public assistance benefits at the main Castro office for the City and County of Denver. Additionally, the position provides second-level supervisory work over the Family and Adult Assistance Division through subordinate front-line supervisors. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience within an operational area.
  • Valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • Must have valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience of exempt and non-exempt staff strongly preferred, ideally within a Human Service agency.
  • Experience in community outreach and collaboration.
  • Working knowledge of the Colorado Benefit Management System and eligibility program knowledge.
  • Experience with public assistance programs, ideally in the state of Colorado.
  • Ability to assess program strengths and weaknesses for process improvement opportunities.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee eligibility teams focused on ensuring accurate and timely processing of public assistance benefits.
  • Provide second level supervisory work over the Family and Adult Assistance Division through subordinate front-line supervisors.
  • Uphold and encourage the DHS Leadership Model, derived from six core performance factors: Organizational Leadership & Navigation, Standards and Values, Collaborative Partnerships, Workforce Development, Critical Evaluation and Process and Project Management.
  • Program planning and implementation related to timely processing, quality assurance, customer service, and personnel.
  • Track and advise staff on policy and procedural changes at the federal, state and county level.
  • Maintain a positive leadership approach that fosters an ideal workplace environment where employees can share ideas and grow within the agency.
  • Supervise 6-7 supervisors which each supervise teams of eligibility professionals.
