About The Position

ETTA, a unique and respected non-profit in the field of Human Services, has been making a positive difference in the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1993. As a member of ETTA's Human Services Support Staff (Direct Support Professional), you will assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live more independent and enriching lives. ETTA staff supports, guides, mentors, and inspires our clients to achieve their goals and live happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives each and every day. This role offers multiple opportunities in various departments, including Day Programs, Residential Group Homes, and Employment Services. You can become a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Life Skills Coach, Supported Living Services Staff (SLS), Independent Living Advocate, Job Coach, General Support Staff, Caregiver, Independent Living Services (ILS) Staff, or Mentor. Paid training is provided, and there are opportunities for both part-time and full-time employment throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area.

Requirements

21+ years of age
A valid driver's license (for a minimum of three years)
Clean driving record
An insured vehicle
Willingness to drive with one of our clients using personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement)
Live Scan (DOJ / FBI) background check required

Responsibilities

Assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live more independent and enriching lives.
Support, guide, mentor, and inspire clients to achieve their goals and live happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.
Provide education, socialization, and community volunteer activities in Day Programs.
Support clients in Residential Group Homes.
Help clients develop their talents, identify employment ambitions, and secure jobs or volunteer positions as a Job Coach.
Enhance living skills as an Independent Living Services (ILS) Staff.
Act as an Independent Living Advocate with ETTA's Supported Living Services (SLS) department.
