About The Position

Under the direction of the HR Recruitment Specialist, the HR Volunteer supports the Human Resources department with a focus on recruitment and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include posting job openings, coordinating interviews, maintaining applicant and employee records, and assisting with onboarding. The role also performs general administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and recordkeeping. This position supports the agency’s mission by contributing to efficient HR operations while upholding organizational values and goals.

Requirements

  • Six months experience in using Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs
  • Desire to gain HR experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to HR, primarily for recruitment
  • Schedule and coordinate candidate interviews
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruitment files; communicate with candidates via phone/email
  • Support candidates during interviews and provide necessary materials
  • Maintain internal and external job postings
  • Enter new hires into HRIS
  • Create personnel files and employee badges
  • Maintain and organize employee records (active, terminated, medical, I-9, etc.)
  • Conduct quarterly audits of personnel and I-9 files; obtain missing documentation
  • Assist with new hire orientation coordination and materials
  • Perform general clerical duties (data entry, filing, reports, correspondence, mailing)
  • Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of HR documents
  • Process incoming and outgoing departmental mail
  • Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and provide routine information
  • Prepare orientation packets and program materials
  • Ensure document quality and readiness for distribution
  • Uphold confidentiality in all aspects of work
  • Follow all safety policies and practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
