About The Position

The Human Resources Expert role is part of a team that champions change, proactively removes roadblocks, and builds diverse and inclusive talent strategies to deliver on Target's guest-centric mission. This role supports teams and leaders in building a sales force passionate about exceeding guests' expectations and creating a workplace where teams love to work. At Target, team members gain meaningful experiences that help them build and develop skills for a career. This role provides skills in understanding federal, state, and local employment laws, using basic Microsoft Office Suite and workforce management programs, and effectively using scheduling software.

  • Frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds, without additional assistance.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks.

Responsibilities

  • Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, making eye contact, smiling, and initiating helpful interactions.
  • Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
  • End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
  • Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
  • Work with HR leader to anticipate and address talent and staffing needs, ensuring the right mix of experience and skills.
  • Lead focused recruiting efforts to help store leaders find and hire candidates.
  • Support team member and leader training needs and advocate for continuous learning.
  • Be an expert resource for scheduling systems and pay practices.
  • Be approachable and available by listening to team members and collaborating with leaders to take action.
  • Deliver on all Human Resources processes and programs to maximize team member engagement and minimize business disruption.
  • Support leader in following company compliance policies that mitigate risk.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, comply with safety policies, and report hazards.
