About The Position

This position is assigned to the Central Region Office located in Raleigh, NC, Wake County. The primary function of this position is to assist with employee recruitment through the Workday System. Position posts job vacancies, and screens applications for all prison facilities within the Central Region and within the Regional Office. These positions are screened on a daily basis and carry a heavy workload. This position is responsible for monitoring positions on a routine basis. Position is responsible for applying education and work history credit with accuracy and in accordance with DAC and state policies. This position serves on a team with two (2) other HR Tech positions and is required to have frequent communication with applicants, hiring managers, facility administrative staff, and human resource professionals. Position serves as a resource regarding the recruitment process, and is frequently called upon to answer questions or provide solutions to problems. This position will assist with job fairs and hiring events within the Region.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience required; or 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Considerable experience with state government Human Resources policies.
  • DAC Merit Based Hiring experience.
  • Workday training and experience.
  • Knowledge of prison operations and prisons job classes.
  • Experience with Integrated HR Payroll System (formerly Beacon).
  • Documented knowledge of state government hiring practices.
  • Documented experience with merit-based hiring and/or posting and screening of job applications.
