About The Position

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Human Resources Specialist opportunity to support our Oak Ridge, TN office and national teams. This position is an opportunity for professional development and growth in a DOE subcontractor office. The right candidate will be organized, flexible, able to manage confidential information, proactive, possess a strong desire to learn, eager to be a part of and support the team, and have the ability and disposition to multi-task with constant interruptions. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree, with a preference for a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience.
  • Strong technical skills with PC operating systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, data entry, database management, and the ability to quickly learn our internet-based applications and coach others to use them.
  • Applicants will be required to pass an MS Office proficiency test.
  • Must be a positive team player, detail oriented, eager to learn, and proactive.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to provide a high level of attention to detail and high-quality work while multi-tasking with interruptions.
  • Must be flexible to accommodate local team and national company needs as they grow and change.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • An eagerness to perform well, taking pride and care with responsibilities.

  • Experience with Deltek/Costpoint
  • Experience administering company AAP and EEO reporting
  • Experience processing DOE clearances

Responsibilities

  • Onboarding of new staff including offer letters, background checks, drug screens, I-9 verification
  • Assist new hires with badging and site/client specific onboarding requirements
  • Management and tracking of our WSAP policy and random drug screens
  • Companywide HR initiatives
  • Local timesheet collection, review, and approval
  • Processing employee changes including promotions, annual salary increases, benefit changes and employee terminations
  • Benefit Carrier EDI feed administration and enrollment auditing as needed and as part of annual open enrollment
  • Record and database management
  • Assist employees with payroll or benefit problems or questions – liaison with payroll staff
