About The Position

AutoPayPlus is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, HR administration, and day-to-day HR operations. This is a hands-on role for an HR professional who is organized, responsive, people-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The HR Specialist will play an important role in creating a professional candidate experience, supporting a smooth transition for new hires, maintaining accurate employee records, and helping employees stay connected and engaged throughout their time with AutoPayPlus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources, recruiting coordination, talent acquisition support, or a similar HR role.
  • Working knowledge of full-cycle recruiting, including job posting, resume review, phone screening, interview coordination, and pre-employment processing.
  • Experience using an HRIS and/or ATS to manage recruiting activity, onboarding tasks, and employee records.
  • Experience coordinating new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee training.
  • Experience supporting employee recognition, engagement initiatives, or employee events.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, phone screening, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate and confidential HR records.
  • Working knowledge of federal and Florida employment practices, recordkeeping requirements, and confidentiality standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS/ATS platforms, and AI-enabled workplace tools.
  • Ability to work independently within established processes while collaborating effectively with the HR team and business leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification preferred, or willingness to pursue certification.

Responsibilities

  • Post approved job openings through the HRIS/ATS, job boards, social media, the company website, and professional organizations as appropriate.
  • Review resumes and applications against established position requirements and identify qualified candidates.
  • Conduct initial phone screens to confirm experience, qualifications, availability, communication skills, and interest.
  • Prepare clear screening summaries for HR and hiring managers.
  • Maintain accurate candidate notes, recruiting activity, and status updates within the HRIS/ATS.
  • Coordinate interviews, calendars, candidate communication, and interview logistics.
  • Support background screenings, reference checks, and other required pre-employment steps.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with candidates throughout the recruiting process.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process from accepted offer through the employee’s transition into their new role.
  • Complete and maintain required onboarding documentation, including Form I-9 and E-Verify records.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and introduce employees to company policies, procedures, culture, resources, and systems.
  • Facilitate new employee training using established materials and curriculum.
  • Partner with managers and departments to support successful new hire transitions.
  • Support employee recognition, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Coordinate employee activities such as Employee Appreciation Day, Customer Service Appreciation Week, and other company programs.
  • Assist with career fairs, campus recruiting events, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Help create a positive employee experience through consistent communication, organization, and follow-through.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, confidential, and current employee records within the HRIS and personnel files.
  • Update employee information related to attendance, PTO, sick time, holiday leave, tardiness, benefits enrollment, and other HR records.
  • Support recurring recruiting and onboarding reporting, including pipeline status, source-of-hire, and time-to-fill.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling employee and candidate information.
  • Escalate employee questions involving policy interpretation, leave, accommodations, compensation, or employee relations to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Support additional HR projects and initiatives based on business needs.
