About The Position

The HR Specialist provides advanced support for key Human Resources functions with primary responsibility for credentialing, licensure tracking, and compliance-related HR processes. This role ensures accurate and timely maintenance of provider and staff credentials, supports adherence to applicable employment and healthcare regulations, and assists with HR operations including employee relations, performance management, and HR systems data integrity. The HR Specialist partners closely with the HR Manager, Revenue Cycle, and Risk & Compliance departments to ensure regulatory alignment, audit readiness, and effective coordination of workforce credentialing and related HR functions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of human resources experience required preferably in a healthcare or non-profit setting.
  • Associates degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting or related field.
  • Experience may be substituted for education on a year to year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage provider and staff credentialing and recredentialing processes
  • Maintain licensure, certification, and credential tracking systems
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of credentialing documentation and files
  • Monitor expiration dates and ensure timely renewals to maintain compliance
  • Support audit readiness for credentialing, licensing, and personnel files
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle on payer credentialing and enrollment coordination
  • Partner with Risk & Compliance on regulatory audits and compliance reporting
  • Serve as HR resource for policy interpretation and employment practices
  • Support employee relations investigations and resolution of mid-level issues
  • Assist with performance management and compensation processes
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of employee and provider records
  • Support HR projects, reporting, and process improvements
  • Support the HR Manager with benefits processing and reconciliation
  • Serves as the technical point of contact for the HRIS system
  • Serves as backup to the HR Manager on matters pertaining to FMLA, ADA and other leaves of absence
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Participates in meetings and may serve on ad hoc committees.
