The HR Specialist serves as the front line of the HR Services Center, delivering exceptional, high‑touch customer service in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. This role is responsible for handling a large volume of inbound phone calls, tickets, emails, and chat inquiries, providing prompt, accurate, and empathetic support while effectively de‑escalating concerns and resolving Tier 1 HR issues. The HR Specialist ensures a consistent, positive candidate and employee experience that reflects the UTSW culture throughout all stages of the employee lifecycle. Through close collaboration with applicants, employees, central HR, and cross‑functional partners, the specialist assesses inquiries, resolves issues efficiently, and escalates complex matters as needed. This role also supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance systems, processes, and service delivery, while proactively addressing employee needs. The HR Specialist may serve as in‑person customer service backup and is expected to demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a customer‑first mindset at all times. This is a hybrid work schedule that is currently one day every week in office and as needed.
