About The Position

This recruitment is for the Department of Human Resources Development, Employee Claims Division. The posting will remain open until 35 applications are received, and may close at any time. This recruitment will establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies. The Human Resources Specialist I serves in a trainee capacity, receiving formal and on-the-job training in the principles, concepts, work processes, regulations, and reference materials fundamental to technical and professional aspects of human resources management. The Human Resources Specialist II also serves in a trainee capacity, receiving formal and on-the-job training in work processes, precedent situations, working relationships with other functions/agencies, regulations, contracts, and reference materials of increasing complexity and integration with other functional areas of human resources management, performing a variety of basic and routine assignments consistent with training status.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a regionally accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Education or experience background must demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents.
  • Education or experience background must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret complex written material.
  • Education or experience background must demonstrate the ability to solve complex problems logically and systematically.
  • Six months of professional work experience in one or any combination of human resources management functions (recruitment, placement, examination, position classification, pay or wage administration, employee management relations and services, employee development, human resources program development and services, labor relations, and human resources research) for Human Resources Specialist II only.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Performs a variety of basic and routine assignments consistent with training status.
