About The Position

Provides quality service and support relating to all employment and transaction in the business unit by ensuring transactions meet the legal requirements under federal, state, and local regulations, as well as comply with relevant MemorialCare policies and procedures. Specific functions include those relating to open positions, employee hires and separations, and the maintenance and processing of all employee records and documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Human Resources Department or related administrative/clerical experience.
  • General knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage onboarding process for new hires, including coordinating background checks, physicals, and processing new hire paperwork. Facilitates and prepares materials and packets for new hire orientation. Orders food and prepares name badges.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for new hires completing the onboarding process, including scheduling and tracking of all pre-employment screening processes to ensure an optimal new hire experience.
  • Coordinate special events, including scheduling of facilities and room requirements, event schedules and set-up requirements, attendance records, staffing, and event follow-up support.
  • Perform various HR-related tasks such as employment verification, handling subpoenas, data entry of employee information, tracking information, assisting staff with specific requests, and assisting employees with general information requests.
  • Responsible for customer service to all visitors, including greeting customers, referring them to appropriate staff, answering the phone, routing calls, taking messages, and assisting customers with specific questions.
  • Verify job descriptions and new hire applications for filled positions and confirm minimum requirements.
  • Assist in interfacing with departments regarding current vacancies and the status of referred candidates by providing frequent updates and metrics to hiring managers.
  • Assure that offers of employment are within employment guidelines and policies.
  • Review all offers of employment (new/re-hires, promotions, transfers, etc.) with the Manager, Human Resources to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in the coordination of New Employee Desk Orientation for the campus and regularly conduct them on an as-needed basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
