About The Position

The Human Resources Representative supports the day-to-day Human Resources functions, including recruiting, new hire orientations, training, performance management, safety, benefits, and payroll. This individual will take an active role in all HR-related matters and relay employee relations issues and matters to the HR Manager/Director.

Requirements

  • Two (2) to five (5) years Human Resources experience, preferably in the capacity of employee relations and/or conflict resolution.
  • Experience and/or exposure to employment law and regulatory compliance a plus.
  • Recruiting experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (in Human Resources or Business preferred).
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English and Spanish.
  • Utmost professional demeanor, etiquette and confidentiality.
  • Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Prolonged sitting and terminal use.
  • May be required to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Hand dexterity and strength.

Nice To Haves

  • Seasonal travel to Salinas, CA optional.

Responsibilities

  • Resolving conflict among employees, performance or conduct issues.
  • Handling workplace disputes, disciplinary procedures, and Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Performing all Human Resources activities (employment, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations).
  • Performing the recruiting process including placement of advertisements, screening and interviewing applicants, coordinating the hiring process and pre-employment testing for hourly positions.
  • Preparing necessary documentation for employee onboarding, termination, resignation, etc.
  • Conducting new-hire training programs (Orientation, etc.).
  • Maintaining confidentiality within the HR Department at all times.
  • Adhering to safety policies and procedures related to all facets of the job.
  • Understanding benefit plan interpretation, communication, and enrollment, including the standard benefits package and retirement plans.
  • Participating in Safety committee meetings, incident investigation, and assisting with corrective actions.
  • Responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ability to work early/late and weekends when needed.
  • Seasonal travel to Salinas, CA optional.
