We are seeking an organized and empathetic Human Resources Coordinator to ensure our team is supported, our administrative processes run flawlessly, and our school remains compliant so our teachers can focus on what they do best: shaping the minds of our scholars. Position Overview The HR Coordinator is the frontline of support for our faculty and staff, handling the day-to-day administrative operations of the HR department. This role is highly transactional and detail-oriented, requiring a professional who can gracefully manage employee inquiries, oversee time-entry compliance in Paylocity, administer benefits, and ensure every new hire is properly onboarded and cleared to work in a school environment.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of HR administrative experience.
  • Systems Proficiency: Experience with HRIS platforms is required
  • Discretion & Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential personnel information with absolute discretion.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-service mindset toward supporting staff.
  • Mission Alignment: A strong resonance with True North’s classical education mission and core values.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in an educational setting is highly preferred.
  • hands-on experience with Paylocity is a major plus.

Responsibilities

  • First Point of Contact: Monitor and manage the primary HR inbox, serving as the first line of support for daily employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and general HR matters.
  • Benefits Management: Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance and 401k plans. Assist staff with enrollment, qualifying life events, and general benefits questions.
  • Audit Assistance: Play a key supportive role in annual HR and financial compliance requirements, specifically gathering and organizing data for the annual 401k audit and workers' compensation audits.
  • Time & Attendance: Oversee the time-entry process across the organization using Paylocity. Ensure all hourly employees submit timesheets accurately and managers approve them on time.
  • Payroll Processing: This role processed payroll on a bi-weekly cadence, ensuring all data in the payroll system (hours worked, PTO taken, deduction updates) is 100% accurate.
  • School Compliance: Manage the rigorous background check and fingerprinting process required for all school personnel. Ensure all state and local compliance standards are met before an employee’s first day.
  • Onboarding: Facilitate the new hire onboarding experience, ensuring all necessary employment paperwork, I-9s, and tax forms are completed and filed accurately.
  • Recruiting Assistance: Provide administrative support to the recruiting lead by helping to post job descriptions, organize applicant tracking, and coordinate interview schedules as needed.
