Position Summary The Payroll Administrator is responsible for overseeing the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payments for a multi-state and international workforce. Additionally, the Payroll Administrator plays a pivotal role in streamlining operations, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience managing & processing payroll for a mid-sized organization or equivalent experience in accounting.
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles, tax laws, and regulatory compliance.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems
  • Strong detail orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening skills.
  • Technically savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, accounting, finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Workday Payroll strongly preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day payroll operations, including processing, and compliance
  • Process biweekly US payroll and monthly international payroll, then transfer that information to the general ledger while maintaining detailed records and reconciling payroll data to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop and implement long-term payroll strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure the organization remains compliant.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
  • Audit timesheets, taxation, garnishment deductions, benefit, and 401k deductions to guarantee accuracy and compliance.
  • Process garnishment paperwork and maintain garnishment records in payroll system.
  • Address employee queries related to payroll promptly and professionally.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve all issues and discrepancies, reporting to management as needed.
  • Register with tax agencies as needed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with payroll and timekeeping training for new employees and managers.
  • Support HR Operations by answering employee queries, processing employment verifications, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Work with 3rd party tax service vendor to ensure timely and accurate tax processing.
  • Prepare and distribute biweekly and monthly payroll related reports.
