About The Position

Pratt Industries is seeking a dynamic, high-energy Human Resources Manager – Manufacturing Operations who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys being actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the business. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting approximately 150 employees at our facility. The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic business partner to plant leadership while maintaining a strong operational presence throughout the workforce. This role is responsible for talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll administration, benefits support, compliance, employee engagement, and HR strategy execution. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Manufacturing Human Resources experience required.
  • Demonstrated success managing employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and HR operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Must be able to work effectively in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Regular walking, standing, sitting, and interaction with employees throughout the facility is required.
  • Must be comfortable spending significant time on the production floor supporting employees and operations.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of HR leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting a workforce of 100+ employees strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Experience with ADP or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies that support staffing requirements while minimizing vacancies and turnover.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify current and future workforce needs.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding programs to ensure successful employee integration.
  • Maintain compliance with all employment eligibility verification requirements and hiring documentation.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide retention and turnover trend analysis.
  • Assist with unemployment claims management and hearings as needed.
  • Promote a positive employee experience through active engagement and visible HR presence throughout the facility.
  • Lead investigations involving employee complaints, policy violations, hotline reports, and workplace concerns.
  • Partner with managers to address performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and employee development opportunities.
  • Coach leaders on policy interpretation, employment law compliance, and effective people management practices.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, respect, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and workforce retention strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership regarding HR-related matters.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and efficiently.
  • Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, disability, FMLA, and leave administration.
  • Maintain employee records, HRIS data, personnel files, and I-9 documentation in accordance with company policies and federal/state requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports, metrics, and workforce analytics.
  • Monitor workforce trends, attendance, turnover, and staffing metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with plant leadership to support business objectives and workforce initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and execution of succession planning and talent development programs.
  • Identify employee development opportunities and recommend training initiatives.
  • Participate as a member of the facility leadership team.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and workforce planning efforts.
  • Drive accountability and help create a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, service, and employee engagement.
