The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily HR operations of the hotel, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, compliance, training, payroll support, and associate engagement. This role partners closely with department leaders to ensure the property attracts, develops, and retains top talent while maintaining compliance with company policies, employment laws, and brand standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in hospitality, hotel, resort, restaurant, or service industries.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and employee relations.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations professionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Marriott systems experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees execution of human resources policies and programs, which may include recruitment and onboarding, training, and employee relations.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EEO, FMLA, and FLSA.
  • Assists frontline managers in the application of HR programs to departmental operations.
  • Serves as the primary HR contact for associate concerns, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.
  • Conducts workplace investigations related to complaints, harassment, discrimination, attendance, and performance concerns.
  • Posts positions, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, and extend offers.
  • Maintains applicant tracking systems and ensure all requisitions are updated timely.
  • Oversees new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations on a variety of human resources initiatives.
  • Supports frontline managers with performance reviews, corrective action, coaching conversations, and development plans.
  • Identifies training needs and coordinate leadership development, onboarding, and compliance training.
  • Monitors turnover, engagement scores, and other metrics to identify trends and opportunities to support operational goals.
  • Supports engagement surveys, action planning, and recognition programs.
  • Supports workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and OSHA-related reporting.
  • Coordinates annual training requirements, including harassment prevention, safety, ADA, human trafficking, and brand-required training.
  • Monitors human resources budget.
  • Attends leadership meetings and provide HR guidance on staffing, engagement, and compliance matters.
  • Ensures that HR recordkeeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
