About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager assists with the day-to-day management and operations of the Human Resources Department. This position supports a variety of HR functions, including recruitment and hiring, employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, compensation, employee records, training and development, and compliance with employment laws and organizational policies. The HR Manager also assists the Director of Human Resources with the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures and provides guidance to leaders and employees regarding HR-related matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, or a related field required.
  • At least three years of progressively more responsible experience in all phases of personnel administration.
  • Familiarity with current laws and regulations regarding employers and employees’ rights and privileges.
  • Ability to implement, audit, and identify processes to ensure organizational compliance with said laws and regulations.
  • Ability to mediate employee/employer issues and reconcile differences within the confines of regulations, laws, and current personnel policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • The employee must be physically present to perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Uses communication and organization skills to organize and conduct recruiting and employee testing programs.
  • Manages and keeps compensation and benefit packages up-to-date.
  • Maintains employees’ personnel file.
  • Maintains compliance with all new hire data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Maintains compliance with all state and federal employment law practices.
  • Provides back-up Human Resources department with direction in the absence and/or at the delegation of the HR Director.
  • Follows Code of Conduct policy.
  • Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean.
  • Completes annual educational requirements.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
  • Wears identification when on duty; uses computerized time clock system correctly.
  • Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion.
  • Attends annual review and/or skills fair and department in-services, as scheduled.
  • Attempts to end conversations and other interactions in a positive manner; leaves others with a good impression of the Hospital Authority of Miller County and its employees.
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicates the mission statement of the organization.
  • Always treats others in a friendly, helpful manner.
  • Refers co-workers to proper sources when unable to provide an answer.
  • Interacts with others in a professional and friendly manner.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the day-to-day management and operations of the Human Resources Department.

  • Maintains employees’ personnel files.
  • Conducts exit interviews.
  • Receives employee complaints and assists the Director with their resolution.
  • Maintains compliance with all new hire data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Maintains compliance with all state and federal employment law practices.
  • Assists the Director with compliance activities regarding Employee Health and Safety and leave administration policies.
  • Provides back-up Human Resources department with direction in the absence and/or at the delegation of the HR Director.
