About The Position

Lakeside Hotel Casino HR operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position leads and directs the functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including, but not limited to, compensation; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior Human Resource Administration/Supervisory experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English in all manners. This position will require minimal public speaking.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is highly desired.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to HR Specialist, management, and other staff when specialized and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Facilitates learning and development programs for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the Executive Director of HR as needed/required.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Responsible for employee records and reports. Manages data entry function.
  • Designs and organizes various employee activities to promote morale.
  • Participates in job-related community relations activities.
  • Responsible for responding to Unemployment Claims and participating in Unemployment Hearings.
  • Perform all job functions safely and responsibly.
