About The Position

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting a broad range of human resources functions and providing timely, practical guidance to managers and employees. This role contributes to employee relations, policy interpretation, performance management, workplace investigations, and other HR priorities that support organizational needs. The Human Resources Manager also helps promote consistent HR practices and may lead or support special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Human Resources experience with a broad range of HR knowledge
  • Minimum 3 years’ previous supervisory/managerial experience
  • Knowledge of employment law, performance management practices, and progressive discipline
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS)
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to motivate and support positive performance
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex situations
  • Ability to identify practical and effective solutions

Nice To Haves

  • CPHR designation or in progress is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day human resources operations and provide guidance to managers and employees across a range of HR matters
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with employees, leaders, and internal stakeholders across the organization
  • Support the resolution of workplace issues by applying sound judgment, professionalism, and conflict resolution practices
  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise on human resources practices, policies, and employment-related matters
  • Support employee relations processes by conducting reviews, gathering information, and helping to resolve workplace concerns in a fair and consistent manner
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on performance management and workplace practices
  • Interpret and apply organizational policies, employment legislation, and HR procedures to respond to employee and manager inquiries
  • Support compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies, procedures, and standards
  • Assist with employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, leaves, performance concerns, and offboarding activities
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support leave administration, accommodation, and return to work processes
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and related documentation as required
  • Monitor and review HR data and trends to support reporting and continuous improvement
  • Support the development and maintenance of HR programs and systems that promote effective HR operations and organizational consistency
  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and formal review practices across the organization
  • Act in accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and expectations for professional conduct
