About The Position

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Engineering Human Resources (HR) team is seeking a Human Resources Manager to be based in Long Beach, CA. This role offers the opportunity to join an inclusive HR team focused on shaping the future of HR at Boeing. The manager will be responsible for enhancing work culture, improving the employee experience, and contributing to business growth. Key impact areas include team leadership and people development, strategic workforce and adaptive planning, fostering inclusive workplaces, talent and employee development, analytics and metrics, resource planning and employee onboarding, and culture and employee engagement. As a Human Resources Manager, you will serve as a thought partner to leadership, a coach to your team, and a credible voice across all levels of the organization. You will collaborate closely with BGS HR, Global HR, and HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to ensure smooth and effective HR support for the team and managers. In-person presence is highlighted as crucial for enhancing the overall employee experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in constructing/building and providing reports and presentation material as needed for assigned projects or Leadership review
  • 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Lync
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with senior management and/or executive leadership
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course Exploring Leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years leading cross-functional and/or project teams
  • 3+ years of experience within Human Resources
  • Experience managing and successfully leading HR strategy and process development and implementation across matrixes teams (and/or through geographically dispersed direct reports) in a large company
  • Experience in cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships and proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships; connecting and advising at senior levels within the business, thoughtfully challenging leadership when necessary
  • Experience designing and implementing innovations within a collaborative environment
  • Experience attracting, managing, and developing a high performing team

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of HR Business Partners advising, and educating executives, managers and employees on HR issues
  • Lead a small matrixed team of HR professionals, guiding performance, development and engagement
  • Serve as a trusted business partner and providing real time HR solutions aligned with business goals
  • Deliver real-time HR engagement and solutions to Boeing teammates
  • Foster a culture where employee experience is at the heart of HR service delivery
  • Support the execution of key HR processes, including performance support, employee movement, and leadership coaching
  • Collaborate with HR COEs to provide insights for designing impactful HR programs in areas like labor relations, talent management, and compensation
  • Utilize HR metrics and people data to identify trends and drive effective solutions
