About The Position

The Human Resources Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) internship at Travelers aims to attract and develop self-motivated individuals passionate about a career in Human Resources. This program provides a foundation for future success within the organization by offering challenging work, planned activities, and formal mentorship. Interns gain insight into the business, HR functions, and various career options at Travelers. The program includes company-wide events like the Intern Symposium and community outreach events, offering opportunities to network with leadership and management. The internship is based in Hartford, CT, and St. Paul, MN, with subsidized apartments available for students living outside commuting distance. Positions are available from early June through the end of the summer.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. now and in the future. The company does not sponsor/support H-1B petitions, TN, or Forms I-983/STEM OPT, for this role.
  • Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Knowledge of basic Human Resources concepts and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in meaningful, project-based work assignments with defined deliverables within areas such as Compensation, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, People Analytics, and HR Operations.
  • Gain exposure to HR Senior Leaders, HRLDP alumni, and current interns.
  • Build technical skills, gain business insight, and develop professional competencies critical for success in Human Resources roles.
  • Leverage modern analytical and artificial intelligence (AI) tools/platforms.
  • Apply critical thinking to evaluate limitations related to the quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
