About The Position

The Human Resources Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) internship aims to attract and develop self-motivated individuals who are highly skilled and passionate about a career in Human Resources, providing a foundation for future success within the organization. As a HRLDP intern, you will be exposed to challenging work with planned activities and formal mentorship, offering insight into the business, HR, and various career options at Travelers. The program includes company-wide events such as Intern Symposium and community outreach events, providing opportunities to interact and network with many levels of leadership and management. The internship program is based in Hartford, CT and St. Paul, MN, with subsidized apartments available for students living beyond a commutable distance. Positions are available from early June through the end of the summer.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. now and in the future. The company does not sponsor/support H-1B petitions, TN, or Forms I-983/STEM OPT, for this role.
  • Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of basic Human Resources concepts and practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred.
  • Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in meaningful, project-based work assignments with defined deliverables within areas such as Compensation, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, People Analytics, and HR Operations.
  • Gain exposure to HR Senior Leaders, HRLDP alumni, and current interns.
  • Build technical skills, gain business insight, and develop professional competencies critical to success in Human Resources roles.
  • Leverage modern analytical and artificial intelligence (AI) tools/platforms.
  • Apply critical thinking to evaluate limitations related to the quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
