About The Position

The Human Resources Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) internship at Travelers aims to attract and develop self-motivated individuals who are skilled and passionate about a career in Human Resources. This program provides a foundation for future success within the organization by offering challenging work, planned activities, and formal mentorship. Interns gain insight into the business, HR functions, and various career options at Travelers. The program includes company-wide events like Intern Symposium and community outreach, offering opportunities to network with leadership and management. Positions are available in Hartford, CT, and St. Paul, MN, with subsidized apartments offered for students living outside commuting distance. The internship runs from early June through the end of the summer.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. now and in the future.
  • Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of basic Human Resources concepts and practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred.
  • Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Gain exposure to business, HR, and career options at Travelers through planned activities and formal mentorship.
  • Interact and network with many levels of leadership and management through company-wide events.
  • Engage in meaningful, project-based work assignments with defined deliverables within a specific HR team (Compensation, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, People Analytics, or HR Operations).
  • Build technical skills, gain business insight, and develop professional competencies critical for HR roles.
  • Leverage modern analytical and artificial intelligence (AI) tools/platforms.
  • Apply critical thinking to evaluate limitations related to the quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
