This internship will offer an understanding a Non-Profit Human Resources Department and will be involved in Recruiting, Onboarding, HRIS, Benefits and Events.   • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s level program in Human Resources, Business or a related major at a NJ Institute of Higher Learning
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances.
  • Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans and utilize time effectively and efficiently.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeated motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • The employee must occasionally move about to accomplish tasks, adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information
  • Ability to drive a vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Support in the recruiting process by sourcing, phone screening, updating Requisitions, creating offer letters, making offers and managing candidates along the pipeline
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, including document collection, assisting with hosting orientation meetings, and ensuring timely completion of all required forms
  • Help track and report on onboarding progress and metrics
  • Support the organizational effectiveness of the HR team
  • Assist with the development of internal communications to be posted on our Intranet
  • Prepare and modify training documents or other materials
  • Gain experience in our HRIS
  • Assist in answering workforce member questions about
  • Assist with other projects as needed
  • Develop Job Requisitions by using information from the Job Descriptions, collaborating with Hiring Managers and uploading the Requisition in our Applicant Tracking System
  • Source Candidates for posted positions
  • Manage the full cycle recruiting process in our Applicant Tracking System
  • Conduct first phone interviews
  • Make an offer of employment
  • Create an offer letter
  • Manage the recruitment process for a positive candidate experience
  • Co-host bi-weekly onboarding of new hires
  • Process new hire documents such as W-4 and I-9
  • Plan and coordinate leadership meetings
  • Manage Microsoft Outlook calendar
  • Exhibit professional behavior in emails, calendar invites, virtual and in person meetings
  • Improve verbal communication with internal and external customers
