About The Position

Under the supervision of the Human Resource Director and Human Resource Manager, the Human Resources Intern will support the organization in transforming, updating, standardizing, and improving job descriptions. The HR Intern will also maintain and update employee databases as needed. This role requires excellent writing and editing abilities, a clear understanding of HR concepts, and a willingness to learn. The intern must possess strong problem-solving, decision-making, multitasking, and organizational skills, with the ability to take ownership of projects. Excellent communication (verbal, email, and written) and interpersonal skills are essential, along with strong customer service skills and the ability to build effective relationships. A demonstrated commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality is required.

Requirements

  • Majoring in Human Resources or related field required.
  • Currently a junior or senior year of college.
  • Technical skills in Adobe, Microsoft Office Proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent writing and editing ability.
  • Clear understanding of HR conception and willingness to learn more.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must have problem solving, decision making, multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Take ownership of projects.
  • Superb communication (verbal, emails and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Open to feedback and have excellent time management skills.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with HR team and leaders.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed courses in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Experience utilizing ChatGPT and Google Docs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the organization in transforming, updating, standardizing, and improving job descriptions.
  • Maintain and update employee databases as needed.
  • Use a standardized job description format.
  • Organize to create a centralized job description library.
  • Partner with leaders to better understand position requirements and expectations.
  • Act as a partner with the entire HR team and leaders to ensure job descriptions are uniform companywide.
  • Verify and consult with leaders to audit job description verbiage relevance and compliance.
  • Update job descriptions using comprehensive and concise language.
  • Assist team members with daily tasks, projects, and other related duties.
