About The Position

Join our Human Resources team and learn how HR supports employees and the organization as a whole. This internship is designed for a motivated student who wants to learn, ask questions, and gain practical skills in a professional public-sector environment. The Collier Mosquito Control District is seeking a motivated Human Resources Intern to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a college student interested in Human Resources, Public Administration, or Public Health to gain hands-on experience in a real-world, office-based setting within a local government special district. The District Collier Mosquito Control District covers 730 square miles in Southwest Florida, between the Gulf of America and the Everglades. We are a team of dedicated professionals working to protect public health through innovative and science-driven mosquito control strategies. As an HR Intern, you will collaborate with experts in Operations and Research, gaining exposure to a variety of projects. As an HR Intern, you’ll learn how Human Resources supports a public agency dedicated to protecting community health through mosquito control and prevention. You’ll gain exposure to public-sector HR operations, policies, and compliance while working alongside a collaborative and supportive team. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university (Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, or related major preferred)
  • Interest in Human Resources and public-sector administration
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
