About The Position

Meijer offers an 11-week internship program that challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the course of the internship experience, we deliver diverse personal and professional development opportunities that further develop skillsets that can be implemented both during and after the program. The internship program will allow for interaction with other interns and Meijer senior leaders. The internship program includes: Challenging and impactful projects, Final presentations delivered to senior executives, Executive speaker series, Professional development and training opportunities, Networking and community events, Events highlighting key areas of the business.

Requirements

  • Progress toward a bachelor’s degree; preferably in Human Resources, Labor & Industrial Relations, Organization Development, or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years of professional work experience is highly preferred, and candidates with HR work experience are most desirable
  • Familiar with HRMS systems Workday and Kronos
  • Decision Quality - Good research and analytical skills and a logical approach to problem solving

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Corporate HR partners across the business.
  • Analyze data, make recommendations to improve process efficiencies and assist in communicating HR initiatives.
  • Screen applications, interview candidates, and guide and support them through the on-boarding and orientation process.
  • Offer advice on coaching and delivering feedback to team members as well as help in navigating team member questions and concerns.
  • Utilize systems, reports, and Center of Excellence resources to identify store needs, gather data, and make recommendations to Operations partners that they support.
