The HR Generalist is a professional who oversees the human resources responsibilities and activities of an organization. This position manages employee relations, regulatory compliance, and training and development. The HR Generalist is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated departments. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant field required -AND- 3-4 years’ experience in Human Resources -OR- SHRM/PHR certification + 2 years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in non-profit and government organizations is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer workers’ compensation claims, including intake, documentation, carrier coordination, and return-to-work tracking
  • Support workplace safety and regulatory compliance, including incident reporting, OSHA/Cal-OSHA documentation, and safety training coordination
  • Coordinate ADA accommodations, including the interactive process, documentation, and collaboration with managers and medical providers
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, life events, open enrollment, and vendor coordination
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to safety, benefits, leave, and accommodations, including audit support and reporting
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records related to workers’ compensation, safety, benefits, and ADA documentation
