About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic HR team at IABA. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping HR operations while working closely with Service and Operational Directors to drive organizational goals and measurable results. This position is fully on-site at our Fullerton, CA office. Remote or hybrid work is not available. The HR Generalist understands the high level of professionalism and confidentiality required in HR and payroll operations. This role requires knowledge, experience, and initiative to support a wide range of HR functions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will interact directly with leadership, support employee relations, ensure compliance, and contribute to a positive and productive workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2–3+ years of HR Generalist experience (LOA/FMLA strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, payroll regulations, and best practices
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (ADP preferred; Dayforce a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and tools like Trello or Workable
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR functions, including employee records and HRIS data accuracy
  • Assist with audits, file cleanup projects, and documentation management
  • Maintain digital and physical employee and termination files
  • Ensure all employee paperwork is completed, filed, and compliant
  • Administer employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, etc.)
  • Manage LOA, FMLA, and Workers’ Compensation processes
  • Audit employee eligibility and provide benefits-related support
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (including DLSE regulations)
  • Prepare reports and respond to EDD/DLSE claims
  • Maintain compliance postings and documentation
  • Address employee concerns and support conflict resolution
  • Conduct investigations, coaching sessions, and termination meetings
  • Ensure performance reviews are completed on schedule
  • Partner with Directors to implement HR policies and procedures
  • Respond to HR inquiries within 24–48 hours
  • Send company-wide communications (policy updates, reminders, announcements)
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and high employee morale
  • Participate in company events and team initiatives
  • Assist with resume screening, phone interviews, and scheduling interviews
  • Conduct reference checks and support hiring decisions
  • Send offer letters and candidate communications in a timely manner
  • Ensure completion of new hire onboarding documentation
  • Support job postings and maintain relationships with platforms like Indeed
