About The Position

Join Utz as a Human Resources Generalist and help create a positive, high-performing experience for associates across our Kings Mountain and Gastonia, NC facilities. Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish. In this customer-focused HR role, you’ll partner with leaders and associates at all levels to support core people programs including onboarding, employee relations, engagement, compliance, training, benefits and payroll support, communications, and safety. Requirements

  • 1–5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting where responsiveness and follow-through matter.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, and the organizational skills needed to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to anticipate issues, influence others, and maintain a positive, solutions-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort leading employee orientations and traveling minimally between sites as needed.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with HR leaders and plant management to support people initiatives that align with business goals and strengthen the associate experience.
  • Serve as a visible, approachable HR presence on the plant floor and in warehouse areas, helping associates navigate questions, policies, and workplace concerns.
  • Support two North Carolina locations—Kings Mountain and Gastonia—with travel between sites as needed.
  • Lead onboarding activities, including weekly associate orientations, and partner with staffing agencies to address hiring needs.
  • Help ensure fair and consistent administration of company policies, attendance expectations, performance discussions, and disciplinary processes.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records, process unemployment claims and terminations, and conduct exit interviews.
  • Support employee relations efforts by assisting with investigations, communications, and associate engagement initiatives, including events and recognition activities.
  • Promote compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company standards for safety, GMP, and HACCP.
  • Handle confidential information with care and support additional HR projects and priorities as needed.
