About The Position

The HR Generalist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and successful onboarding experience for new employees. This position coordinates the onboarding process from offer acceptance through orientation, ensuring new team members have the tools, resources, and support they need to begin their careers with confidence. In addition to managing new hire paperwork, employee records, and compliance requirements, the HR Generalist partners with hiring managers to facilitate a smooth transition into the organization. The role also supports recruitment, employee benefits administration, policy implementation, employee relations, training, and performance management while helping maintain compliance with employment laws. By providing exceptional service and fostering meaningful connections from day one, the HR Generalist helps build an engaged workforce and a positive employee experience at Midland Care Connection.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources, administrative support, or employee onboarding
  • Experience coordinating onboarding activities, new hire documentation, and orientation processes
  • Knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, and confidentiality requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR information systems (HRIS)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on available information
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in healthcare, hospice, home care, or a nonprofit environment
  • Experience with benefits administration and employee relations
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements related to healthcare employment
  • Experience developing or improving onboarding programs and employee engagement initiatives
  • Training or facilitation experience, including conducting orientation or new employee education sessions
