The Human Resources Generalist role provides daily HR support to employees, leads and supports various HR projects, manages hourly disability absences and employee leaves (LOA, Maternity, Paternity), oversees the yearly hourly performance feedback cycle, assists with APP administration, acts as the CTPAT & TISAX Lead for Human Resources, leads/assists with internal HR audits, maintains accurate HR records and documentation, supports and manages employee events, handles Polycon Handbook management, and provides support to benefits/payroll, training & development, and recruitment activities. Requirements

  • Completion of a Post Graduate College diploma or University degree in Human Resources required
  • One to three years of previous Human Resources experience required
  • Ability to use discretion in confidential and personal situations
  • Excellent communication skills required in English (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of employment legislation required
  • Excellent organizational skills, proven accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must be self-motivated and professional
  • Strong computer literacy required: MS Office; Excel/Word/Power Point/Outlook
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

Nice To Haves

  • CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designation preferred
  • Experience working with Workday or similar HRIS platforms is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily support to employees while fostering positive employee relations
  • Leads and supports a variety of HR projects, updates ensuring completion and effective implementation
  • Manages all hourly disability absences (STA, LTD), including administration and compensation
  • Hourly employee leave management (LOA, Maternity, Paternity etc.) including updating HRIS
  • Manage the yearly hourly performance feedback cycle
  • Assist employees with APP administration, set-up and management
  • CTPAT & TISAX Lead for Human Resources
  • Lead/assist with internal Human Resources audits (MAFACT, TS, LEA etc.)
  • Maintain accurate HR records, metrics, and documentation while supporting continuous improvement in HR processes
  • Support and manage employee events
  • Polycon Handbook management
  • Provide support to benefits/payroll, training & development and recruitment activities
  • Contribute consistently to 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as required
