We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support our employees and managers across all areas of HR. This role is ideal for someone who is knowledgeable about California employment law, comfortable working independently, and enjoys being a trusted resource for both employees and leadership. Reporting to the CFO, the HR Generalist will partner with leadership, Corporate Counsel, the finance team, and external HR consultants to ensure effective HR programs, strong employee support, and compliance with applicable employment laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with California labor and employment law.
  • Experience with employee relations, workplace investigations, HR compliance, and policy administration.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with HR systems; Paylocity experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on HR support to our onsite staff, serving as a trusted and accessible resource for employees and managers on policies, benefits, employee relations, and workplace concerns.
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding, while administering employee benefits, open enrollment, retirement plans, workers’ compensation, and insurance-related matters.
  • Manage leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, Paid Family Leave, STD, and LTD, and support performance management and employee development initiatives.
  • Conduct and/or support workplace investigations and employee relations matters, maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook, and ensure required training and acknowledgments are completed.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and California employment laws and regulations, and partner with leadership and external HR consultants on HR strategy, compliance, reporting, and process improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation while providing responsive, professional, and consistent HR support to the onsite team.
